Impasto Impressionism

These works were done from 1999-2001. I call them "Impasto Impressionism" due to the extremely thick application of paint in many of these works. There are also elements of expressionism and even the abstract in these paintings. I worked with this technique on and off for a few years until I felt mature and comfortable with it. Escaping historical precedent from artists such as Van Gogh, and Samuel & Lawrence Rothbort, and finding my own unique style took considerable time.
